Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-09
The short version
Wallekan helps you and your friends track and split shared costs. It is not a bank or payment processor — no money moves through the app. You settle up between yourselves, however you like. Use it fairly, keep your share links safe, and understand it's provided as-is.
1. What Wallekan is
Wallekan records shared expenses and calculates who owes whom, showing the minimum transfers needed to balance a group. It does not hold, move, or process funds. Any actual payments happen directly between members by whatever method they choose.
2. Using the service
No account is required. A group is accessed through its share link, and anyone with that link can view balances and add or edit expenses. You are responsible for deciding who to share a link with and for keeping it private.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to store unlawful content.
- Attempt to break, overload, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure.
- Access groups you were not given a link to, or interfere with other people's groups.
4. Your content
The names, amounts and notes you enter are yours. You are responsible for their accuracy and for having the right to enter information about other people. Wallekan computes balances from what you provide and cannot verify the underlying numbers.
5. Availability & changes
We aim to keep Wallekan available and working, but we may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. The service is free and offered without any guarantee of uptime, backups, or continued availability.
6. No warranty
Wallekan is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that calculations, exchange rates, or the service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wallekan and its developers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes over money owed between members. Settling debts, and any disagreements about them, is solely between you and the other members.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will appear here with a new date.
